How did your motherhood change your lifestyle? How did you manage to balance it with work, couple and social life?
Becoming a mother had some impact, I am not going to lie about that. The most important change was that everything needed to be planned and organized a bit more. Especially when my second child was born.
I am a teacher so I am lucky to be able to spend a lot of time with my kids.
My friends are really important to me so I really try to see them as much as I can. We all live nearby so it is easy to pop in and have playdates with the kids while we have a glass of wine, but I also enjoy my girl's nights out and act like a silly schoolgirl. My friends keep me sane and that makes me a better mother to my kids and partner to my husband.
What are your favorite things about being a mother?
The best part, without any doubt, is the love. The love I feel for them is so overwhelming. I never knew I had so much love in me. Morning and pre-bedtime cuddles are my favorite. Before I put my son to bed I crawl into bed with him and we talk about his day. I truly cherish these moments.
How did you manage your body changes since the beginning of your pregnancy?
I did not like being pregnant. Really. I did not feel like myself and gaining weight was the least of my worries. I did not suffer from major morning sickness but my hormones were all over the place and I was not the best company to my husband, haha. The poor guy.
What is your beauty & sport routine?
I am not sporty spice. I wasn't before I had kids and I am definitely not one now. I know I should start to work out a bit, but I always find something better to do, ha! Maybe I should make this my 2016 resolution. Join a gym or something…
I don't use a lot of make up. I only apply a moisturizer in the morning, put a light concealer on, some mascara and blush. Before I go to bed, I clean my face with a soft scrub gel and apply another moisturizer. I like to look natural and the concealer is only to hide the fact that I am tired.
Your favorite spots to eat/drink in town?
I love to walk around in Brussels. Have some fish soup at 'DE VISMARKT' have a drink and shop a bit.
Belgium is really small and I only live an half an hour away from Antwerp. You can always call me to have a coffee with friends and some pancakes at TINSEL.
What does your Josefina contain?
When I am out with my kids I put diapers in them, wet tissues, cookies, fruit, a bottle of water and some back up clothes for the kids, you never know what happens, right?
I also use my Josefina to go to work. It is easy because I can remove the diaper unit and put my laptop case in it, my wallet and my lunch.
Tips for mums to make the best use of theirs Josefina?
Because you can easily take out the diaper unit you can use the bag as a work bag too. That is what I love most, and the golden initials as well.
Is there any mum's that inspires you? If so, who and why?
On instagram I put a lot of mums who inspire me. But, and this might sounds cheesy, I admire my own mother the most. I will never be as organized as she is/was. I would give money to be like her.
