Meet Iris de Richemont, an inspiring woman with a refreshingly authentic spirit.

Iris, you're a producer for fashion brands. Can you tell us what your job involves?
Sure! I’ve been working as a fashion producer for more than 7 years now. I worked in fashion houses such as Chanel & Chloé but also for agency that represent photographers, artistic directors, stylists... It’s not an easy job to describe, I often ask people if they have seen « Dix Pour Cent/Call my agent » on Netflix, because it’s basically my job but in fashion.
I’m responsible for overseeing the logistics and execution of fashion shows, photoshoots, or fashion-related events as well as all the artists that will take part of it. I’m also starting to work as an agent in the same field, negotiating contract for artists and promoting their work. It’s exciting!
What do you like most about your job?
I get to meet and work with incredibly gifted people, it’s so inspiring.
What does a typical day look like? How do you balance work, social life and family?
My days are never the same, which is something that I love. I can wake up and be on set in a studio for a fashion Campaign for Gucci, or take a plane to shoot a vidéo for Chloé in Los Angeles, and on more quiet days, have a tea time with my favorites artists to discuss their upcoming projects.
I only have one rule, during the week, I stop everything I do at 5:30pm to take care of my daughter before she goes to bed at 7.30pm, this is the mum time I need to connect with her before her day ends. We have a routine we love that makes the day easier!

What's the coolest vintage piece you've bought or inherited,
and what's the story behind it?
I’m obsessed with vintage shopping. I’m always on the hunt for new stores, I’m quite lucky because I live in the Marais and right now, vintage shops open everyday!
One of my favorite vintage find is an Michel Alexis Paris fake fur coat that I actually thrifted few days after giving birth. My daughter is born in November and I was looking for the perfect « mama bear » coat to wrap her around while she was sleeping in her sling. I still wear this coat every winter and she still loves to hide under it.
If you could have a drink with an icon, who would it be? Where would you take her? What would you ask her?
That’s a great question! If I could pick one icon, I think I’d choose Audrey Hepburn. She’s always struck me as such an elegant, thoughtful, and inspiring person, both on and off the screen. Her style and grace, along with her humanitarian work, would make for such a fascinating conversation. I used to watch Vacances Romaines when I was younger and I’ve been fascinated by her since then.
I’d take her to Café de Flore in Paris. Historic café, known for its artistic and intellectual history, frequented by greats like Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, so it would be the perfect backdrop for an inspiring conversation with Audrey.
I think I would asked her “What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone trying to make a meaningful impact in the world today?”
I imagine it would be a beautiful, insightful conversation full of wisdom and charm!

Your favorite vintage store in Paris?
I have two depending on my mood:
La Frange à l’envers for more of a second hand shopping - they have a very good selection of clothes and accessories that match every fashion trends. I can easily shop a full look on a good day!
Come on Eileen (rue de Rivoli) for a proper « vintage hunt » - they have designer pieces for very good prices hidden at every corner of the shops. I really recommend going there when you have a lot of time. They also have great selection for kids, I just bought some Bally moccasins for my daughter and a pair of matching Jimmy Choo for me!

Your favorite restaurant?
Jean-François Piège's Hachis Parmentier at La Poule au Pot, so French!
Other favorite Paris addresses?
My fiancé and I are obsessed with brocante & marché aux puces, we love to take our daughter hunt for a new book or a little doll house while we hunt for designer chairs and lamps. We like to go to les Puces de Vanves, less known, you can still make great deals there!

Tips for mums-to-be during pregnancy?
Oil this belly! Not joking, I’ve soak myself in oil and you could never tell this body carried a human being!
I also had the chance to swim a lot during my pregnancy and I feel it make me feel so light, I believe walking and swimming are the best exercise pregnant or not.
How would you define your style? Any tips for stylism during pregnancy?
I think I’m a Chloé Girl at heart. I love boho dresses, fringes, vintage Levis and a pair of cowboy boots.
I chose not to buy any « pregnancy clothes » and only wears clothes that could stretch a little: long woven dresses, low rises jeans... It made me feel confident not having to change my wardrobe. I think you can easily twists your wardrobe to make it pregnancy friendly!

What do you like most about motherhood?
Being called « maman chérie » and creating wonderful memories with my daughter. There is one tip I love to give: when she was born, I created an email address for her, ever since then, we email her with love notes, milestones, happy thoughts, pictures and videos... I cannot wait to give her the password one day.

What do you think is the biggest challenge as a mom?
The balance between being a wife, a mum, a friend and a working girl.
I had a my daughter quite young, got pregnant at 25, work was everything to me and my friends were definitely not thinking of having kids any time soon. So I made a promise to myself: still be me and not use motherhood as an excuse to stop going out. Now I take my daughter everywhere with me, work and brunch, she is my little assistant and everyone best friend.

Who inspires you as a mom?
My mum, my sister, my friends... every women that I meet, all with a different path to motherhood and all so meaningful and empowering.
I’ve been lucky enough to get pregnant the day my partner and I decided it could be wonderful to start our own family. I think that’s why I’m really inspired and amazed by all the strong woman out there that have to go thru a lot of procedures to get their precious baby, they are so powerful to me.
